Directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, the film is based on the life of Air Deccan founder, Captain GR Gopinath. The first-look poster of Soorarai Pottru has been unveiled by the team. Actor Suriya took to Twitter to share the first-look and introduced his character as Maara. Sharing the first-look, he wrote, "Here's Maara.. An ordinary man with an extraordinary dream! In the poster, he looks ripped as he flaunts his toned physique. He is also seen taking a leap and is all set to fly high. Soorarai Pottru will also release in Telugu and is titled as Aakasham Nee Haddhu Ra. The biographical film is jointly produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment and Guneet Monga of Sikhya Entertainment. Soorarai Pottru has a stellar cast including Aparna Balamurali, Jackie Shroff, Karunas, Mohan Babu and Paresh Rawal in prominent roles. Composer GV Prakash, who is fresh off from the success of Asuran, has been working on Soorarai Pottru for more than five months. The technical crew comprises of editor Satish Surya, costume designer Poornima Ramasamy and Jacki who takes care of the production design.
